Get back - The Beatles

Today I feel a little sad because for the time you read this I'll be back to Barcelona. After two weeks of total relaxation and off in Algeciras with my family and friends, now I must go back to routine ... and indeed, there isn't that return to the routine which saddens me, but the fact of not returning home until at least February next year. This is the problem of holiday and living away from home!

But I don't want this to be a sad post and I want to show a small restaurant in Algeciras that my mother took me which I left happy. It's called 'Abreboca' and is located in the Plaza Mayor of Algeciras.

The truth is that in their menu they have small food treats at great prices, and I was pleasantly surprised. We were able to enjoy a delicious foie gras with tomato jam as a starter, and then asked which is the local dish: lamb on crisp couscous base and cheese, with a delicious gravy!

 Cheesecake and greek yoghurt!

After lunch we were walking through the park for a while; my mother really liked the way I styled my hair that day. The day before I had found this beautiful pendant for just 1 at Claire's, and did not hesitate to wear it ... looks like a really old piece!

A few days before my mother had also bought some nice shoes in Blanco, in pink colour... they're beautiful!

Hope you are all enjoying the holidays and summer!

Summer music & teen love.

On these few days I've been at Algeciras (I'm leaving next Sunday, coming back to Barcelona) I've been listening to my old records here at home. Almost all my CDs are here, and it's nice always to come back and find them as you left.

I've got a huge collection of The Smashing Pumpkins CDs. It's my favourite band since I was 13 years old, and when I was a teenager I was always listening to them. If there were a band who could understand what was happening inside my head, that was The Smashing Pumpkins. I used to dress the way they did, read books about them, listened to the music that influenced them (that's how I discovered 'My bloody valentine', for example)...

In 1998, James Iha, a former member of SP; released a solo album that I really loved, 'Let it come down'. It's a small piece of music, with lots of love songs perfect for a rainy day. James Iha was my teenage love and, even today he's awesome for me! He released a new album this year, 'Look to the sky', and I hope he would come to Spain for a gig. It would be great to see him again.

He also has another musical project called Tinted Windows, who are pretty great too :)

Later on, I've been listening to another artist that really changed my life when I was a teenage: David Bowie.

I've been a Bowie fan since I was a little girl, as I was a great fan of Labyrinth film and I adored David's character, Jareth. When I grew up I started to listen to his music, especially to his Ziggy Stardust material.

Last week I watched the BBC's documental 'David Bowie and the story of Ziggy Stardust'. You should all watch it so you would understand an important piece of music's history. David, with Ziggy, changed the point of view about music, fashion and sexuality of the 70s.

Candy Kiss - The Creepshow

Hi there!

I'm having a very relaxing holidays at Algeciras with my family and friends, but I must say that we're having some very hot days around here. Maybe you didn't heard about it, but last week there were two major fires in the Canary Islands and now there is a huge fire destroying thousands of hectares in Girona.

The problem of forest fires in summer always affect Spain in a very hard way, but this year we also have to deal with cuts in money for the firefighter teams in our country. It seems really stupid, the government is cutting money from every social service but they still have the same salary and still talk about the same lies. And I ask myself if it's time to stop fighting and leave my country or if I could have a little more faith in the inhabitants of Spain...

¡Hola!

Anyway, I would like to show you some pictures from last week with my family. These are from the first night I arrived here; we had dinner in a lovely restaurant near my home.

And this was my outfit last Saturday for hanging around with my friends Rose and Anabel! I found this denim skirt on Springfield sales, and I'm in love with it! You know that I normally don't like denim, but this one is really cute!

Oh yes! I found on my wardrobe that gorgeous straw bag! It was made especially for me when I was twelve years old... I'm so happy I found it again!

Little Baby Nothing - Manic Street Preachers

I really hope you're having all a really good time this week. I'm at Algeciras, resting a little bit from work, 15M and everything, but still moving on new things.

Today I want to show you two things. The first one is the pictures from a couple of months ago when the great band from Wales Manic Street Preachers (MSP) were in Barcelona closing their international last gig.

The music magazine Mondo Sonoro made a contest for a meet & greet with them, asking what would you give the band as a gift if you were meeting them... and I was one of the two winners!! My answer was simple: a customized bunny brooch for each member of the band.

I went with Micky, who is a big fan of MSP too; and watch the soundcheck and some songs they played for us. Then the band came to talk with us and the winners of another contest. I gave them the brooches, and Nicky Wire so happy about them; he really liked it! He also said something really beautiful to me when I told him about the 15M pin I also gave to them: 'Keep on fighting, you're doing it really well'.

They signed me my setlist from Sziget 2009
 Happiest face ever <3

Pictures from the concert!

The second thing is my lady-like outfit a couple of weeks ago. I was at Pudding with some of my friends wearing one of my old (and beautiful) dresses from H&M. I really love the shape of this dress and I wish they would do more like this!

 Dress - H&M (old)
Socks - Asos
Shoes - Lefties
Bag - from Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam
Hair flower - H&M
Bracelet - Vin Tee Couture

This week I'm meeting some of my friends from Algeciras, and I've got one more week around here... hope you're having a very good time too!

Karma Police - Radiohead (at Bilbao BBK fest)

So last weekend I was at Bilbao BBK live fest and I had a gorgeous time around there! I saw great bands as The Cure or Radiohead... let me show you some pictures!

On the first day, we arrived at Bilbao and saw The Gift, Snow Patrol (above) or The Cure (below pictures). The Cure did a splendid concert during more than 3 hours. At the beginning, they were having some technical problems with the keyboard, and the gorgeous Robert Smith came out on the stage and sang to the audience three acoustic songs while they were repairing the keyboard.

On the second day, Radiohead was the top artist of the day, but we also saw Mumford & Sons, who had a great performance over the stage.

 Mumford & Sons

And finally, on Saturday I was so excited about seeing Garbage again that I dressed a little bit like a young Shirley Manson on the 90s. It was really amazing.

I think that the organization of the festival can be much better, but anyway we had a lovely time at Bilbao and for sure I'll repeat the experience another year.

I was also taking pictures fro Trendtation; you can see them on their Facebook page here.
